Best Romantic Walks Near Our Riverfront Gatlinburg Cabins

For some, visiting Gatlinburg is all about checking out the local hot spots and landmarks – from the Space Needle to the Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster, to nearby Pigeon Forge’s Dixie Stampede and Dollywood. But for others, the serene natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains is all it takes to feel rejuvenated on vacation. One lovely way to spend your time in one of our Gatlinburg cabins is to enjoy a romantic riverfront walk. Here are three trails that are perfect for a gentle walk to take in the view.

Near our Gatlinburg cabins, The Gatlinburg Trail is a beautifully maintained trail that starts at the Sugarlands Visitor Center in Gatlinburg, and is just under two miles long. Along the way, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the river, which you’ll cross over on a cute footbridge on the path. This trail is often used by dog walkers and bicyclists, so it’s smooth and easy for a gentle walk. If you are staying in one of our pet-friendly Gatlinburg cabins, such as Tina Marie’s, your pup will love coming along with you for an afternoon date in the sun. You can also see some historic home sites along the path as well.

Laurel Falls

If you’re willing to do a little more adventuring, walking to Laurel Falls is a lovely way to have a romantic day together. There’s a quick drive from the Sugarlands Visitor Center to the top of Fighting Creek Gap, where you can park and start your walk. This trail is suitable for a leisurely walk, but there are a few steep parts along the way. Walk for just over a mile, and you’ll come to the stunning Laurel Falls. This is a great place for a picnic! Our cabins in Gatlinburg include fully equipped kitchens (just bring your own food!), so you can pack up your favorites before you hit the trail.

The River Walk in Gatlinburg

If you wish to stay in town, check out The River Walk in Gatlinburg itself. You can take a quiet, relaxing stroll along the Little Pigeon River, and there are plenty of benches and gazebos along the way to stop at. Just a few steps away from the path that leads along the river are shops and restaurants. This is a lovely way to explore the city while still having a romantic walk on the river. Many of our Gatlinburg cabins are within walking distance of downtown. If you want a really up close and personal experience with the river, don’t forget the charming River Rhapsody cabin, which sits directly on the Little Pigeon.
